About J.E. Walker
Where the stories come from. Why they matter. And why J.E. Walker is one of the most extraordinary creative voices working today.
“Many people are now on the edge of their seats, waiting for Walker to write the film based on his own life, a powerful narrative of survival and resilience through an unjust battlefield.”
The Beginning
J.E. Walker's journey into storytelling began during a period of profound hardship while falsely incarcerated. After suffering a brutal injury, caused by correctional officers who assaulted him instead of protecting him, he was left with a broken eye socket and a dislocated shoulder. The incident was covered up. He was sent to segregation, “the hole,” where he passed out from the pain and received no medical treatment.
It was in that solitude and extreme pain that Walker awoke from a vivid, compelling dream and began to write. With no formal education at the time, he filled 40 pages of notes through the night, the dream continuing in episodes, laying the foundation for what would become Chosen.
During his incarceration, Walker handwrote over 26 original film and novel projects that now form the complete J.E. Walker catalog, every universe, every saga, every world on this website was conceived and developed behind those walls.
The Rise
Encouraged by Attorney and Professor Timothy Everett, Walker earned his high school diploma in just six months. He enrolled in a college literature course, then graduated with a degree in Business Management, maintaining a 3.8 GPA and earning a spot on the Dean's List for two consecutive years.
After his conviction was overturned, Walker chose immediate release over litigation, determined to rebuild his life. He worked two jobs, earned his CDL A license, and became a proud father to his daughter, Alaia Walker. Following spinal surgery in 2025, he found renewed clarity and purpose, committing fully to writing and bringing his stories to life.
The inspiration for the Grinnivale Chronicles came from his daughter Reniyah, who after watching the Harry Potter films told him: “I can be a hero too.” That moment sparked Walker's vision for a magical, inclusive saga centered around a young Black girl, joined by heroes representing Chinese, White, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Latino backgrounds, giving children of every background the chance to see themselves as heroes.
Walker's life story is a testament to perseverance and a voice for the voiceless, those still trapped behind bars without justice. Today, J.E. Walker is actively developing all of his screenplays and seeking passionate producers, agents, managers, and collaborators to bring these diverse and powerful stories to life on screen.
